Alberni Harbour, Sea Kayaking Day Trip
We’ll sea kayak up the
Alberni inlet from China Creek to Port Alberni’s
working harbour, past working logging operations, fishing
boats and leisure sailboats to the fully operational
mill, where you’ll get a water’s edge view
of an operating paper mill. We’ll also paddle
past a bird sanctuary, where you might see great blue
herons, eagles, and numerous ducks and gulls. In the
hills beyond you’ll see the town of Port Alberni,
Mount Arrowsmith and Mount Klitsa, with its striking
white glacier against the deep green west coast forests.
We’ll stop for a gourmet picnic lunch along the way, and
provide snacks throughout the day. This is a great
introductory sea kayak trip in the sheltered inlet,
with plenty of natural and urban sights to feast your
eyes on, and to introduce you to the valley from a
different perspective.
Meet in Port Alberni: At Batstar Adventure Centre, Alberni Harbour Quay, Vancouver Island, British Columbia @ 9 am
Depart to China Creek: Batstar Transportation to China Creek
Kayak For: 4-5 hours exploring the Alberni Inlet
Customize Your Trip: If you book this entire trip, from 1-10 people, we can do some sea kayak training including chart reading, weather, paddling skills, packing a sea kayak for an expedition, etc. Call us to discuss your interests.
