Batstar Mountain View B&B
Guests can relax in a two room suite (premium beds with 100% cotton sheets) with a private entrance through a flower garden patio. Heated tile floor in the bathroom. The common area has big windows, a wood fireplace, leather couches, library, computer with web access and lots of floor space. The eating area is spacious and looks out onto the garden. It has a mini-fridge, microwave and bar sink. The patio features some locally made top quality cedar chairs, benches & tables surrounded by beds of flowers & herbs. The view of Mount Arrowsmith, the highest mountain in southern Vancouver Island is great. For a closer view of Mount Arrowsmith or for some night time moon gazing, use our stand mounted telescope. The Beaufort Range is right behind us and we're close to McLean Mill Historic Site, Stamp Falls and the Log Train Trail. Luckily, mosquitoes are not a problem here.

Batstar Harbour View B&B
Guests are treated to a great view overlooking the Port Alberni Harbour, Mt. Klitsa, Forbidden Plateau and the mountains and glaciers of Strathcona Provincial Park. There are two rooms (premium beds with 100% cotton sheets) with a private entrance. There is a private bathroom for each room. The large common area has a great view and has a wood fireplace, comfortable couches, and lots of floor space. The eating area is spacious with a great view. The guests stay on the entire main floor. It is situated in a quiet location and is close to parks, the Harbour Quay and stores. You can walk to almost everything you need.
2 Guest Rooms
The Batstar B&B is $80 night, double occupancy. Includes a superb breakfast.

Batstar understands the needs of kayakers, hikers, anglers and outdoor minded people. We have many conveniences for you. If you need to leave other gear, such as bicycles or your surf board, we can store it for you for your continued adventures after your trip. We have a bicycle repair shop if you need to work on your bike. You can leave your gear in a locked/inside area.

Outfitting Services

Batstar offers the following services in for kayakers, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who are not taking a guided tour with us. These services will greatly benefit people who do not want to bring all of their gear to the area but need top quality gear for an activity that they have planned.

• Car Storage
  If you are going to the Broken Group Islands or the Deer Group, you can park your vehicle at our acreage instead of by the docks in Port Alberni. This is especially helpful for travelers who have to leave behind some gear and travel clothes and luggage. We will take you to the dock for passage on the MV Lady Rose or MV Frances Barkley.
  $9 Can per day. Min 2 days. Includes transportation to and from the dock at the Harbour Quay. We'll get you there in plenty of time to load your gear for your trip to the Broken Group Islands.
  
  
• Gear Rental
  We rent kayaking and camping gear. Our gear is top-of-the-line, clean and well maintained. Call us at 1.877.449-1230 for more information and to book.
  
  
• Used Gear for Sale
  Batstar uses top-of-the-line gear for our guest's comfort and safety. Each year in the fall we sell off our used gear including our single and double kayaks & accessories, tents, sleeping bags, Thermarests and tarps. Generally, the price is 20-50% off retail, depending on the item.
  
  Our kayaks and kayaking gear are cleaned inside and out with fresh water after each trip. Our camping gear is thoroughly cleaned and dried after each trip and is inspected for any signs of wear and tear.
  
  If you are interested in any of our gear, please e-mail us and we will contact you to inform you about availability and to put you on our put you on our mailing list.
  
  For instance, if you want one of our sea kayaks, we will contact you in the order that we received your inquiry. In August we will contact you to confirm if you are still interested in a sea kayak and to take a deposit. The rest of the gear is treated in a similar fashion.
