Sea Kayaking - Day Trip in Clayoquot Sound starting in Port Alberni
We live in the Alberni Valley because it is so close to some of the best sea kayaking in the world. We run this full day trip for people living or visiting the Alberni Valley who want to get out to Tofino and sea kayak in Clayaquot Sound for the day. The 1.5 hour drive to Tofino is spectacular and our guests can relax and take in the scenery - maybe even see a bear. We launch into Clayoquot Sound from Tofino and right away you get a taste of the open Pacific Ocean in a relatively protected area.
We'll have a gourmet lunch on a sandy beach, paddle past a First Nations Village and walk on the Big Tree Trail on Mears Island. When we get back to Tofino, you'll have an opportunity to change and get to know Tofino a bit. We almost always pick up some treats from some of the wonderful cafes in town. All food and beverages are included in the tour.
