Great Adventure Tours
Batstar’s goal is to have our guests experience the essence of the environment that they are traveling in. In doing so, we unplug from the grid, so to speak, and tap into the rhythms of nature. Our guests take their cues from the sun, the moon and the tide. Discovery and exploration are daily objectives.

Accommodation is Included Before and After Your Trip.
Our prices reflect the inclusion of B&B accommodation the night before your trip starts and the night it returns from the field. We know that looking for quality accommodation adds stress to any trip. Our guests show up at their point of departure knowing that everything has been taken care of. The night before is more relaxing as is the return night.

Attention to Detail
Since 1999 we’ve had over 1800 guests spend time with us - many of them more than once - some 6 & 7 times. We refine our customer service through feedback from our guests and our employees. We want the entire Batstar experience to be a fun and memorable one - before, during and after the trip. |
| |
Professional Guides
Our guides are the heart of our company. They make Batstar trips memorable with their leadership, expertise, knowledge and willingness to work hard - from dawn to dusk - to deliver an exceptional customer experience. |
| |
Superb Food
Our guides love to cook and we have a fantastic menu. We prepare all of our meals from scratch in the field. Whenever possible, we use locally grown organic products. Our fish is wild Pacific. We can easily accommodate food preferences and intolerances. |
| |
Top-of-the-Line Gear
Our gear has to be well made, dependable and durable, therefore, we choose gear from companies that have a passion for excellence. Batstar guides help evaluate every piece of gear we use and if it isn’t “bomber” or “skookum”, we find something else that is. |
| |
Environmental Sustainability
We practice no-trace camping and are always helping to rehabilitate damaged beaches when we find them. Our goal is sustainability - to be able to access wild areas with our guests for years to come. |
| |
Risk Management
This is the core of what we do and one of the strengths of our company. We take it seriously and participate in conferences to keep us at the leading edge in this field. Everyone at Batstar is a risk manager. |

A Good Company to Work For
We’re a small family business and we’ve built a reputation as one of the best adventure tour companies on the West Coast to work for. We pay at the top of the industry, we provide benefits, have solid operational systems, use top-of-the-line gear and we rest our guides to avoid burn-out. |
| |
Permission to Run Trips
Batstar has permits and licenses for the destinations that we lead trip to. We follow the rules of Parks Canada, BC Parks & BC Lands and Water. We also liaise with Coast Guard, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and provide information to wildlife researchers. |
| |
Supporting Small Communities
We live in a small community and some of our trips leave from even smaller ones. We use local businesses whenever possible and educate our guests on the specialties of local artisans. Each place has a unique history and we share this with our guests. |
| |
Giving Back
We fortunate to be able to help many worthy organizations raise money. Since 1999, our trips have raised over $70,000 at charity auctions. Visit our website to learn more about the great organizations we support. |
| |
Commitment to Learning
As a company, we’re always challenging ourselves to be better. Guides are information sponges and we try to nourish their appetites for information through conferences and internal training. |

Solid Management
Rhonda and Blake Johnson are the owners and operators of Batstar. They’ve sea kayaked most of the west coast together and have logged hundreds of kilometres hiking and thousands more bicycling. Their passion for the outdoors and sharing it with others is what Batstar is all about. |
